Sonographer Overview
Advanced Radiology is a privately owned outpatient imaging facility centrally located in Mid-Missouri. Our team of radiologists reads for more than 50 orthopedic physicians throughout Central Missouri and over 500 physicians across Missouri.
Job Type PRN Hours of operations: M-F 8 am – 5 pm (No call no weekends)
Location Osage Beach, Missouri
Salary Competitive; Negotiable. Based on years of experience.
Role Purpose
To work as needed to cover vacations
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs general diagnostic ultrasound exams (abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular, general) and assists radiologist with procedures (FNA’s, Biopsies) for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment.
- Preparing patients, explaining the exam, performing the procedure, completing worksheet and reporting the findings to the radiologist.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and facility policies, and procedures.
- Assist with the daily operation of the facility.
- Carry out Quality Assurance protocols and Quality Improvement measures within the facility.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with co-workers, administrators, and members of the health care team.
Requirements
Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
- a 2-year associate's degree or 4-year bachelor's degree required
Experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate competence in the specialty areas to be performed.
- Uphold certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning (Continuing education, staff training, research, or higher education).
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documenting activities and report generation.
Licenses & Certifications
- Graduate of Radiologic Technology program accredited by the American College of Radiology or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or American Registry of Diagnostic Ultrasonography
- Registration by ARRT or ARDMS in both general ultrasound and vascular ultrasound
- Basic Life Skills/CPR

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
