Minimum Qualifications for Employment
Registered Echocardiography Technologist with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an ambulatory care setting. Familiarity with a Cardiology office and inpatient setting is preferred.
Definition
Under the direction of the Lead Echocardiography Technologist and Site Manager, this individual will assume primary responsibility for the conduct of Echocardiography and maintaining the echo area including schedule, supplies, and maintenance of equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Cardiology Office
· Assumes responsibility for conducting and issuing reports for all varieties of echocardiography cardiograms and stress echocardiography studies. Conducts these services either on scheduled patients or at the request of physicians on an as-needed basis.
· Ensures proper billing for procedures.
· Answers patient’s routine clinical questions with regards to echo services. Updates patient’s medical records
· Maintains continuing education credits to ensure certification per ARDMS/CCI requirements.
Inpatient
· Duties include but not limited to inpatient echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms. Exams to be performed in the inpatient echocardiogram lab, portable in units, Emergency Department, procedural areas, and the Family Life Center.
· Log Echocardiograms and Transesophageal Echocardiograms performed.
· Self-service maintenance of TEE scope reprocessing machine (Cidex, Filters)
· Self-service HEPA Filtered PCI Probe Storage System (HEPA Filter)
· Proper documentation in the EMR
· Administration of Definity
· Communicates with Rounding Cardiologist, reading Cardiologist and APP’s regarding patient status, echo reads and prioritizing cases
· Communicates effectively with Echo Group on Inpatient Echo Lab Flow via email
· Proper use of Definity/Bubble studies
· Maintains annual compliance via HealthStream and under the direction of the PVCA OSHA Coordinator.
May conduct other duties at the direction of providers and/or Lead Echocardiographer. Maintains CPR Certification

Pay: $38.00 - $49.00 per hour
