Summary
The Echocardiographer performs all Echocardiogram and Dopplers which result in successful reading. Assists with all other departmental testing as needed, following departmental protocols. The staff member demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all age groups with special emphasis on middle and senior adults. The staff member must evidence the ability to apply these principles when selecting equipment, performing tests, and interacting with clients and their families.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Education and Work Experience:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Must possess at least 1 year of experience in cardiology testing.
- Must have completed echo courses in M-Mode and 2-D and Doppler Echocardiography.

- Certification Requirements:
- Must be CPR trained- Healthcare Provider level.
- ARDMS OR CCI certification required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Epic (if applicable to position)
- Performance Manager/NetLearning
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
- Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Other Requirements:
- Must possess typing skills.
- Must be able to perform EKGs, Holter Monitor scanning, Treadmill preparation for Stress Echocardiograms, Echocardiograms, and Dopplers.
