About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Imaging Systems Engineer II to support Varian Aria, a leading Radiation Oncology Information System (ROIS). This system is designed to streamline oncology treatment workflows, particularly in radiation therapy and medical oncology, by integrating with Varian’s Eclipse treatment planning system and TrueBeam linear accelerators.
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operation, administration, and support of core clinical imaging systems (PACS, RIS, Voice Recognition) and ancillary systems. You will ensure seamless connectivity, security, quality assurance, and system upgrades while collaborating with clinicians, staff, and vendors to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
70% Operational Focus:
- Administer, support, install, maintain, and manage enterprise-wide clinical imaging systems.
- Provide off-hour on-call support to resolve issues independently and efficiently.
- Collaborate with teams on assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of service requests.
- Ensure 24x7 system availability through after-hours and weekend support as needed.
30% Design & Innovation:
- Lead the design and implementation of projects to enhance the functionality and stability of clinical imaging systems.
- Perform escalation support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for complex issues.
- Work closely with IT teams to maintain compliance with organizational standards and policies.
- Identify and recommend innovative solutions to optimize imaging informatics systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of work experience and education.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience supporting clinical imaging technology environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with installation, operations, maintenance, and support of at least two of the following systems: RIS, Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS, Voice Dictation, Advanced Post Processing, RadOnc EMR, EKG/EEG, GI.
- REQUIRED: Experience with Varian Aria and Radiation Oncology workflows.
- Preferred: Experience with Cerner systems.
- Working knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and IHE standards.
- Familiarity with imaging modalities (XR, US, MRI, CT, Nuclear, Mammo, EKG).
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN, wired/wireless networking technologies, and advanced workstations/diagnostic monitors.

- Create detailed Change Management documentation and execute modifications to production environments.
- Collaborate with managers and staff to address workflow, equipment, and operational challenges.
- Manage inter-departmental projects and operational initiatives from conception to completion.
- Continuously learn and provide support for additional IT systems and technical environments.
