Job Title: Sonography : Ultrasound Tech
Job Summary:
The Sonography : Ultrasound Tech is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform various ultrasound procedures for diagnostic purposes. They work closely with patients to explain procedures, position them correctly for imaging, and capture high-quality images for accurate diagnosis by physicians.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform ultrasound scans on patients as requested by physicians
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment for use
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures
- Review images for quality and ensure all necessary information is included
- Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff
- Keep accurate records of procedures and patient data
- Assist with scheduling and organizing ultrasound appointments
- Stay up-to-date on new techniques and technologies in ultrasound imaging
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have completed an accredited sonography program
- ARDMS certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Comfortable working with patients of all ages
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations
