Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Vascular Technologist to join our team in Queens, NY. As a Registered Vascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in our healthcare facility, assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with various vascular diseases.
Responsibilities:
- Perform non-invasive diagnostic procedures, including ultrasound, to evaluate blood vessels and detect abnormalities such as blockages, blood clots, and narrowing of arteries or veins
- Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination
- Operate and maintain specialized ultrasound equipment and other relevant technology
- Analyze and interpret test results, preparing accurate reports for physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop appropriate treatment plans based on test findings
- Educate patients about vascular diseases, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options
- Monitor patients during procedures to identify any adverse reactions or complications
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in vascular technology and participate in continuing education opportunities
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) issued by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology, sonography, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience as a Registered Vascular Technologist is highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Proficient in performing vascular ultrasound procedures and interpreting results
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in vascular technology
