Job Summary

Houston MRI, a part of the Capitol Imaging Services (CIS) family, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Katy, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound (sonography) procedures while ensuring a professional and compassionate patient experience. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform ultrasound procedures with precision and accuracy, prioritizing patient care and safety.
Verify physician orders (hardcopy/electronic) to ensure correct procedures are performed.
Engage with patients by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring a comfortable experience.
Maintain accurate patient records in RIS and PACS, including quality control logs and service documentation.
Ensure compliance with all imaging safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Troubleshoot and maintain ultrasound equipment , following manufacturer guidelines.
Manage ultrasound-related medical supplies , ensuring adequate stock and organization.
Support administrative duties as needed and assist with clinic opening/closing procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification:

High school diploma required; BS degree preferred, graduate of an approved Ultrasound Technology program (college or hospital affiliate).
Registered or registry-eligible with ARRT, ARDMS, or an equivalent ultrasound certification program.
Current CPR certification required.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology , and outpatient imaging procedures.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills , particularly in healthcare systems.
Experience using PACS, RIS, and other imaging-related software preferred.

Professional Competencies:

Strong communication skills (verbal and written); bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus .
Ability to multi-task, remain detail-oriented, and ensure accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, and sitting during work hours.
Regular use of hands and fingers for operating ultrasound equipment and documentation.
Lifting/pushing/carrying items up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Reliable transportation required for travel between locations if needed.
Work schedule will be communicated by the manager/supervisor.
